John H. Robinson
Lakeland – John H. Robinson, 96, passed away May 29, 2016.
Mr. Robinson was born in Portsmouth, NH on Aug. 3, 1919. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Following the war, he was an EMT and managed a wrestling team. He also worked for Lakeland Regional Medical Center, and Lakeland Electric in the security division. He attended Lakeland Bible Church. Mr. Robinson enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and rode until the age of 78.
Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents; son, Guy L. Robinson; daughter, Brenda Wood; sister, Jeanette Catlin; and great grandchild, Bradley Larkins. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Leona Robinson; sons, Michael (Virginia) Robinson, Chuck (Tammy) Runyon, John Robert Runyon and Billy Abner; daughters, Deborah (Donald) Reisig, Melodee (Michael) Madison, Mary Runyon, Anna Lones and Cindy (Tommy) Dean; brother, Merritt (Martha) Catlin; 33 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wed. from 6-8 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Thurs. at 1 pm with interment to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
