John G. Bush passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2024. He was part of what is now called the "Greatest Generation". Born shortly before the "Great Depression", a time of widespread economic hardship, later enlisting to serve his Country at war and returning postwar to start a family and take part in his generation rebuilding this country.
Enlisting in the Marine Corps at Age 17, he was proud of his service to the Corps and his Country.
Deployed as a soldier in the Fleet Marine Force Pacific Theater, he also served in the occupational forces in post war Yokohama Japan and later in post war China protecting US. Interests there.
Upon returning home in late 1947, he married his high school sweetheart, Catherine in 1948.
Together, they started their family, raising them in a central New Jersey beach community and later moving the family to Georgia.
After a career spanning many years with Pennsylvania Railroad, AT&T and Lucent Technologies, he retired from Georgia and moved to Florida. He and Catherine, his wife of 66 years, settled in the Sandpiper Community in Lakeland to enjoy their retirement. Together they enjoyed many years of various activities, social functions, trips, cruises, Disney Resort stays, and Trips to Georgia for family gatherings and holidays.
