John Leland Bennett's Obituary
John Leland Bennett, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born February 19, 1963 in Baton Rouge Louisiana to Alex and Mary Ann Bennett.
John is survived by his daughter Melody Bennett, brother Kenneth (Addy), sisters Wendy (Julio), Sandra, Patrica (David), and Lindsay; Nieces Jessica (Bubba), Jodi (Jarod), and Scarlet; Nephews Alex and Corey; Great nephews William, Layton and Braxton and step-mother Donna. John is proceeded in death by his mother Mary Ann Bennett, father Alex Bennett, sister-in-law- Harrilyn Bennett and his favorite pup Sampson.
John was a longtime resident of Lakeland, Fl. He was an extremely hard worker and member of the carpenter, boilermaker, and painter’s unions. He faithfully served at CF Industries for over 20 years through the industrial maintenance company Stalcon. John never met a stranger or forgot a name. He was notoriously late to every event but always the first to give a big bear hug. John was a proud Cajun who loved gumbo and gold brick eggs. He was entirely selfless and would help anyone who needed it, especially his family. John was kind and warm with an infectious smile. His favorite pass times were riding his motorcycle and spending time with his four-legged friends Hank and Gypsy. John was loved dearly by his family and friends. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and is now resting in eternity with Jesus.
John’s Celebration of Life will be held at 5pm on Friday, April 18th at The Big Red Barn, 4816 Deshong Dr. Plant City Fl 33565.
