LAKELAND - Joe W. Thomas, Jr., 55, of Lakeland, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, due to respiratory failure.
Joe was born in Jacksonville, but raised in Lakeland. He had worked for Publix as a truck driver for 30 years, retiring in 2014. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and enjoyed going to the shooting range, and going fishing. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Marcile in 1987, and is survived by his father Joseph, Sr., and his aunt and uncle, Jack and Carolyn Harrell and their family.
Friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday (today), Aug. 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at Socrum Cemetery at 10:00 am.
