JoAnn Norris Mellette's Obituary
JoAnn Norris Mellette was born JoAnn Davis on October 19, 1942, In Fannin County, Georgia.
She was married to Roy Norris on June 19th, 1961, and they raised four children together until his untimely death in 1999.
She is survived by her four children: Melissa Snively (Bruce), Sonja Bishop (Chris), Laura Anderson (Robert), and Steve Norris. She is also survived by siblings Evie Mellette, Tammy McLeod, and Jimmy Davis.
Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive her. Also, she had many cousins, nieces, and nephews she adored.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy and her beloved brother, Tony Stanley.
She is also preceded in death by her second husband, Nelson (Buddy) Mellette, who she married in 2004. They enjoyed 12 years in Marathon, Florida, with many friends and an active lifestyle.
JoAnn enjoyed gardening and snow skiing and was an avid reader. Mostly she loved her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.
When her husband Buddy passed in 2016, she returned to Lakeland to live out her years among her family in Lakeland, Florida. Despite a long illness, she had so much quality time with her family before her passing.
