I have so many memories of you. I know you since we were about 4 or 5 yrs. old. We actually became BFF when we were in H.S. I was with you when you and Kim first met.
I feel I had some responsibility for your first date. Kim would not have taken you home the night we met at the dance. It was the fellow I had met that suggested they take us home (on the subway). He might have said Good-bye otherwise. Instead, the irony of it is that I only saw my guy once after that. But you and Kim went on to have a beautiful life together. We did get to spend many times together during our married life. Though mostly the miles keep us apart. We always kept in touch and have a special bond. You were the sister that I didn't have biologically. One day we will be together again. Until then you are always in my heart Love you, Phyl
Tomorrow we say our final earthly goodbye to you, my loving sister. This has been the hardest time of my life. You are someone who was always there for me. I spent so many wonderful years with you and Kim, welcoming me into your loving family like I was one of your children. You and Kim allowed me the opportunity to travel along with you and experience Navy life. How blessed were we to have had each other and our brother. We loved and respected one another and were always there for the other. You are together now, all of you, Mom and Dad, you and Chick and Kim. I am left with memories that will fill my heart until we all meet again. You were always kind to me and non judgmental. I will miss our "several phone calls a day". I'll still laugh at our inside jokes. I can talk to you now without having to use the phone. I will miss our 9 hour novenas but I'll be saying them for us. You were the finest example of a Catholic loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and wife. Rest in eternal peace with our loved ones. Until we meet again............

Joanie was a friend and mentor to all of us who worked with her. She was a very special lady. I used to leave early enough so I could stop and talk to Kim when he picked up Joan every day. Loved them both.
