Jimmy Earl Grimes Jr.'s Obituary
Jimmy Earl Grimes, Jr 60 of Lakeland, passed away from cancer on Wed., Dec. 5, 2018 at Good Shepherd Hospice. Jimmy was born Jan. 1, 1958, being the 1st baby born for the new year. He was a lifelong resident of Lakeland and proud 1976 graduate of Kathleen Sr. High School. He is survived by his loving & faithful companion of 26 years Diane Poore, his parents Jinny, Sr & Rose Grimes, Son Dustin Grimes, daughters Cynthia Grimes and Cherie Skinner, 3 grandchildren and 1 great, grandchild, brothers Michael (Rosemary) Grimes, Sam Grimes, Sister Brenda (John) Bell. He worked as a mechanic at Leon’s Gulf Station, later purchasing that business. After he sold the business, he then went to work at Ed’s Transmissions, and lastly worked for Publix for 20 years, where he retired. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, loved fishing, camping, Milley his dog. He was a longtime member of the reunion committee for Kathleen Sr. High School. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland, FL 33810. In lieu of flowers that family requests that you please consider your donation to the American Cancer Society.
