Jimmy Lewis Compton
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on September 29, 2024, at the age of 66.
Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He moved to Florida in the 1980’s coming from his home state of Maryland. Jimmy married his loving wife Brenda on November 27, 2004. He loved music, singing, playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, shooting and working on vehicles. He was a member of Victory Church in Lakeland.
Jimmy retired as a Corporal in 2009 after 23 years of service with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Brenda Compton, his son Chris Compton (Kathia), daughter Phyllis Gibson (Mike), daughter Pamela Rodriguez (Freddy), son Kevin Taylor (Jessica), and daughter Alicia Taylor (Russell). He is also survived by his brother Bobby Cross (Tracey) and his sister Robin Lee; grandchildren Aaliyah Compton, Rico Rodriguez, Matthew Compton, Keilana Rodriguez, Nicolas Compton, Maveric Coulombe, Lucas Rodriguez and Zion French; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19th from 10-11 am with funeral services to begin at 11 am, Victory Church-Chapel of Lights, 1401 Griffin Road, Lakeland, Florida 33810. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland.
