Jerry Donald Hallman's Obituary
Jerry was born on December 31, 1939, in Lakeland, Florida. He passed away on February 17, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janie Hester Hallman, and five beautiful daughters: Terri Hallman, Tracey Ray (Tommy), Sherri Harkrider (Greg), Jennifer Haynie (Dallas), and Jerri Lynn Connell. Grandchildren: Adam Ray, Erin Thomas, Taylor Hutchins, Garrett Connell, MacKenzie Pugh, Drake Haynie, Colton Haynie and Jenna Haynie, along with 6 great-grandchildren.
Jerry worked hard all of his life. After his stint in the Navy, he returned to Lakeland to raise his family. As a young man he began his career with Publix Super Markets bagging groceries at Southgate Shopping Center. He eventually became a truck driver and drove over 2 million miles with no accidents. Throughout the years he and Janie raised Arabian and Paso Fino horses. He always had a way with animals and a green thumb. Growing guava trees, gardenias and pineapples was his joy. There wasn't anything he couldn't grow! We will always remember Granddaddy for his devotion to family, silly sense of humor and his unique craftsmanship and creativity. He will be greatly missed!
