Jeffrey Scott Douglas' Obituary
Jeffrey Scott Douglas passed away on January 9, 2024, at the age of 59. He was the son of the late Merton Lee Douglas, Sr., and Hazel Bessie Pritchard Douglas.
Born in Lakeland, Florida, Jeff's favorite activity as a young child was taking apart things and putting them back together. His first successful attempt at disassembly and reassembly was his mother's radio when he was five years old. His Mechanical Inclination continued into his teen years. While attending Kathleen High School, he also studied at Travis Technical Center, where he received his Automotive Paint and Collision Repair Certification.
Following graduation, Jeff worked for many years as the service manager of a commercial lawn care equipment dealership in Lakeland. He later became certified in larger equipment repair and worked for industrial/agricultural equipment dealerships in Tampa and North Carolina.
When Jeff wasn't working on equipment, he could usually be found by following the sound of rock music. It usually led to a classic automobile he was restoring or the kitchen where he was cooking something delicious.
Always on the move, he loved being outdoors. Whether it was fishing, concerts, races, the beach, or helping his friend, Jim, with his Jewelry sales business, Jeff was rarely standing still.
Jeff is survived by his two daughters, Nicole Drummond and Jennifer St. Pierre-Tidwell; three grandsons, Brendan Drummond, Malachi St. Pierre, and Aiden St. Pierre; brothers Todd Douglas (Jelane) and Merton Lee Douglas, Jr. (Mary); sisters LeeAnn Sweat (Ronnie), Juanita Abercrombie, and Cecilia Brown.
