JANET CHARLOTTE DENHAM, 71

LAKELAND - Janet Charlotte Denham, 71, went to be with the Lord September 28, 2014, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born in Buffalo, New York on September 11, 1943, to Al and Vivian Greene.
She graduated from Ithaca High School, Ithaca, NY, in 1961. She moved from Ithaca to Lakeland in 1972 where she resided until the time of her death.
She was employed by the Polk County School Board as a secretary, working at Lakeland High School and Lake Gibson High School before retiring in 1996 after 24 years.
She was a passionate collector and restorer of antiques from around the country as well as an avid gardener.
Mrs. Denham was preceded in death by her parents Al & Vivian Greene; her daughter Christine MacDougall; and a step son Doug Denham.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years James Denham; brother Al 'Skip' Greene of Boise, Idaho; sisters Patricia (Frederick) Ciaschi of Ithaca, NY, and Debbie (Mike) Clements of Arlington, Virginia.
She is also survived by her daughter Kimberly (Charlie) Gates of Lake Wales; her son Robert 'Tim' MacDougall, Jr. of Lakeland; and step-children Julie (Tom) Gunter and Dennis Denham, both of Lakeland; five grandchildren Charlie, Christopher, Ash-lynne Gates of Lake Wales and Shane and Mallory MacDougall of Lakeland.
Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park. Friends are invited to the visitation at the funeral home prior to the service, 10-11:00 a.m.
