Janet W. Brobst's Obituary
Janet W. Brobst, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida. She was born on December 3, 1937, in Rochester, New York.
Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1956 and was married in 1959, beginning a loving partnership that would span 66 years with her beloved husband, Bill.
She was a longtime and faithful member of Lakewood Park United Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and community. Janet retired from Watkins Motor Lines in 2001 after years of dedicated service.
Janet found joy in the beauty of nature. She loved animals and wildlife, especially cats, and had a special passion for flowers and gardening. She also cherished traveling the world with Bill, creating treasured memories together through the years.
She is survived by her son, William (Gwendolyn) Brobst of Lakeland; her grandchildren, Heather Rice and Shelby Brobst, both of Lakeland, and Jonathan Rice of Gulfport; and her brother, William Walker of Hilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Walker; husband Bill Brobst, her sister, Ruth Wagner; and her daughter, Laurie Rice.
Janet will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and the joy she found in life’s simple blessings. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
