James J Woytek's Obituary
James J. Woytek, age 90, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Lakeland, FL. James was born April 5, 1927 to the late John and Mildred (Ivanivich) Woytek in Pennsylvania and raised in Detroit Michigan.
James will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 66 years Shirley (Crispin) Woytek whom he met and married while stationed in England after WWII in 1952. He is survived by his wife Shirley, son Jimmy Woytek and granddaughter Tonya Woytek. He was predeceased by his son David Woytek.
James was a full-service Veteran with over 28 years of service. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corp and then the U.S. Air Force. He served during WWII, Korea and Vietnam and retired from the Air Force in 1972. Being an avid Detroit Tigers fan, he retired to sunny Lakeland Florida in 1972, spring training home of the Detroit Tigers. After serving and retiring with the Air Force he had the opportunity to join the U.S. postal service where he worked another 20+ years. James will be cremated and interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
