James Hilton Roach's Obituary
Lakeland – Hilton Roach, 83, of Lakeland, passed away February 26, 2016 at LRMC due to congestive heart failure. Hilton was born February 28, 1932 in Moultrie, GA to Seymour & Lois Roach. He spent his formative years in Sparks, GA. He moved to Lakeland in 1955 after serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Hilton was a tile contractor for 35 years, working for many Lakeland builders.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spec fishing on Lake Kissimmee, gardening on his property and sitting in his swing. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves & the Tampa Bay Rays. Most of all, he loved his family, but especially his four great granddaughters.
Hilton was preceded in death by his son, Wayne; one sister, Claudette and two brothers, Earl and Roy. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lynell; daughter and son in law, Marilyn & Jeff Clyne; son and daughter in law, Danny & Brenda Roach; five grandchildren, Kyle (Stacey) Clyne, Colin (Shannon) Clyne; Jessica (EJ) Pate; Chad Roach (Allison) and Tyler Roach. He also leaves behind four beautiful great granddaughters, Marylee & Grace Clyne, Riley & Addie Pate, all of Lakeland.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, 1:00 – 2:00 at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Socrum Cemetery.
