JAMES "JIM" A. PYNES, 84
Lakeland - James "Jim" A. Pynes, 84, passed away due to respiratory failure Apr. 17, 2014.
Mr. Pynes was born in Pansey, AL on Sept. 3, 1929. He was a heavy equipment mechanic, and has resided in Lakeland for over 30 years. He resided at Valencia Hills Health & Rehab in his final years. Mr. Pynes attended the former Carpenter's Home Church and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed travel with his family. Mr. Pynes is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mattie "Evie" Pynes; sons, Gary Lisa Pynes and Larry Mickey Pynes; step sons, William "Laughton" Helen Stephens and Charlie Stephens; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, April 21st from 1-2 p.m. at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd., Lakeland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
