Mr. James Burvel O'Callaghan's Obituary
James Burvel O'Callaghan, 75, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2023, in Lakeland, Florida. He was born in Ben Hill, Georgia, to the late Bud and Emma O'Callaghan.
Throughout his life, James worked as a dedicated truck driver for R&L Carriers, where he displayed a strong work ethic and commitment to his profession. James was a man of faith and attended Mt. Zion Assembly of God in Plant City.
During his youth, James was a skilled football player and proudly represented Turkey Creek High School on the field. In his leisure time, he had a passion for fishing and could be found casting his line in any body of water. He also had a love for racing dirt bikes and had a talent for training horses. Additionally, James enjoyed working on cars, where he exhibited his mechanical skill.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, and he will be deeply missed by his family. James is survived by his devoted wife, Jane O'Callaghan, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they shared a beautiful journey filled with love and cherished memories.
James is also survived by his sons, David O'Callaghan (Hannah) and Jimmy O'Callaghan (Kelly), and his daughter, Pam May (Bobby). He was a cherished grandfather to Nolan, Emma, Jimmy, and Bobby and was blessed with four great-grandchildren.
James also leaves behind his beloved sisters, Sadie and Jeanette, who shared a special bond with him throughout their lives.
The memory of James O'Callaghan will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones, who will continue to cherish the moments spent with him.
A funeral service to honor and remember the life of James will take place at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 11:00AM.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00AM until service time.
