James E. "Hank" Nixon's Obituary
Lakeland – Mr. James Edward “Hank” Nixon passed away on September 14, 2021. He was born in Carthage, MO and moved to Lakeland in 1976 from Deposit, NY. Hank worked as a Central Office Technician in communications for over 27 years beginning with GTE, Verizon then Frontier. He graduated from Kathleen Senior High School in Lakeland and had many hobbies and interests. He loved spending time with his wife, family and friends. Hank loved having a lot of people around him. He loved to repurpose and build things that others would throw out. Hank also loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, restoring / building boats, restoring cars (especially his roadrunner and mustang) and also remodeling. He also enjoyed helping others when he could through the years.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Osco Nixon and Doris Yvonne Macumber Nixon. Survivors include his wife, Rose A. Nixon; son, Dustin Lowe; step daughters, Rachel Mills, Brooke Spires; live in granddaughter, Madison Fralic; granddaughters, Emily Chumney, Elayna Chumney, IvoryAnn Mills; brother, Charles (Carol) Nixon; sisters, Bessie (Alan) Stalvey, Deb (Tim) Borne, Arlene (Jerry) Martin, Liz Angell; adopted brother, Thomas (Kim) Graves and their children, cousin and caretaker, Jeanne Macumber. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
