James Edward Garside's Obituary
James E. Garside, 62, died April 17, 2018. Jamie was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on May 6, 1955 to the late John and Kay Garside. He grew up in Burlington, Massachusetts where he made friends and eventually started his own glass company, Ruby Glass, named after his cat. Jamie enjoyed golfing and was an avid Boston sports fan and never missed watching a Patriots game even when living in Florida. Jamie moved to Polk City, FL, where he stayed with his best friend - his Mom. He enjoyed doing chores around the house such as mowing the lawn, walking Missy (Nana's beloved dog), cleaning the pool and fixing the deck. Florida was a good fit for Jamie, he met friends, he was close to family, and he got to relax in the warm weather. People will remember Jamie as having a great sense of humor and sarcasm, as well as being passionate, and sensitive.
Jamie was the proud father of Crystal Dauwer, wife of Blake Dauwer, of Londonderry, NH, and Lindsay Garside of Raleigh, NC. Jamie was the loving “grampy” to Crystal’s two sons, Brody and Travis Dauwer. He is also survived by his sister Gail Pieslak and her husband Robert of Polk City, FL, his brother Bobby Garside of Tuscon, AZ, and Joanie Garside wife of the late Jackie Garside of St. Petersburg, FL. He is joined in parting by his brother, David Garside, who passed only 10 days prior. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and even more friends.
Funeral services will be private.
