JAMES CALVIN "JC" BUCHANON, 95

LAKELAND - James Calvin Buchanon, 95, died August 4, 2014, from stroke related causes.
He was born in Ocilla, Georgia, on October 21, 1918, to Vester and John Buchanon. He served in World War II in the Navy SeaBees and worked as a welder for 25 years for Food Machinery. When asked how he lived so long, he instantly replied, "Hard Work." His true enjoyment was fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Lauterine Buch-anon, son Marcus Buchanon and grandson, Lee Buchanon. He is survived by sons Lonnie of Bell, FL, Clyne and James, Jr., Buchanon of Lakeland; daughters, Catrina Kelley and Marilyn Sharon Seabrook of Lakeland; grandchildren, Lemuel, Danny, John, Lonnie Joe, Jeremy, Cody, Dustin, and Brookelyn Buchanon, Cathy Izzo, Robby Edwards and Stacey Edwards, all of Lakeland, Flyer Lee Seabrook of Boise, ID, and Charlene Kelley of Dallas, TX; 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Family viewing will be at Bethel Baptist Church at 10:00am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am Thursday, August 7th. Gentry- Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of services. Interment will be at Socrum Cemetery.
