Jacqueline Grace McGahee's Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Grace, McGahee/Lea, 93, of Lakeland, Florida. She met her lord on August 11, 2023, surrounded by loved ones after a battle with congestive heart failure. Jackie was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Lea; her parents, Lillian & Marvin Meurlot; brother, Donald Meurlot; first husband, Bob McGahee; and beloved dog Bitsy. She is survived by her brother, Woody (Carole) Sellers; daughter, Peggy (Ronnie) Earwood; son, Stephen (Kathy) McGahee; stepdaughter, Cindy Lea; grandchildren: Allison (Wally Sermon) Butler, Michael (Charlotte) McGahee, Ashley McGahee, step granddaughter, Erin (Luis) Serrano; & great-grandchildren: Trenton, Kayden, Tristan, Margaux, Mallory & Sofia, 4 nieces & 2 nephews. Jackie was born in Orlando and moved to Lakeland in 1992. She went to HS in Miami and at 45 got her AA degree in Orlando. She worked as a school secretary and an office manager for a plastic surgeon. Jackie’s faith and love for others was strong throughout her life. She taught Sunday school at 14 and later ran a Bible study group at Highland Fairways where she lived. You could find her there on-stage performing dance recitals. Jackie also loved tennis, playing games, and reading but most of all her family. She was loyal, generous, enjoyed taking her family on cruises and traveling with Ken. The service will be Tuesday August 15th at Victory Church, 1401 Griffin Rd, Lakeland, 10:00 am with visitation at 9:30.
