Jackly Joseph's Obituary
Mr. Jackly Joseph, 60, passed away in Lakeland, Florida on August 1, 2024. Born in Gonaives, Haiti on January 4, 1964, Jackly was the 5th of 8 children born to the late Leobrun and Myrielle (Jean-Baptiste) Joseph.
Jackly grew up in Haiti, graduating from high school and attending Universite d'Etat d'Haiti where he received a bachelor's degree in Electrotechnical Engineering.
Jackly moved to the states around 1990 and resided in New York where he studied electric power engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 1994, he received a Master of Engineering.
Jackly was incredibly smart and had an ambitious thirst for knowledge, which is evident in his impressive educational achievements. In 1999, he went on to achieve yet another Master of Science in Computer Engineering, this time from Florida Atlantic University. He had a great work ethic and was known for his smart decision making skills and always having a well thought out plan.
In his personal life, Jackly was a reserved gentleman. He preferred to keep any struggles he had to himself, not wanting to burden his loved ones. He disliked gossip and avoided situations that would place him in the middle of drama.
He loved to watch TV, especially the news, nature and historical documentaries, action and old western movies. He loved politics, listening to religious podcasts, opera music (especially Andrea Bocelli), architecture, travel, and being on the beach, relaxing in the sand and enjoying the views. He enjoyed reading books, cooking, and technology products, especially anything Dell. He enjoyed his peace and privacy which he often found in taking morning and afternoon strolls. Jackly loved his hometown Haiti, and he had plans to retire there someday.
Jackly is survived by daughters Corine, Sophie, and Stephanie Joseph. He is also survived by seven siblings: Claude (Gina) Joseph, Evens (Judith) Joseph, Lenide (Herold Latortue) Joseph, Medard (Pascale Joseph) Joseph, Myriamme (Marvin) Joseph-Rentz, Kerby (Maria) Joseph, and Marie-Farah (Glenn) Joseph-Corniola.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 9-10:00AM, followed by funeral service at 10:00AM, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel.
