Howard "Roger" Othoson's Obituary
Howard "Roger" Othoson, 95 Lakeland passed away on November 18, 2015 at Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lakeland. He was born July 3, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA to Rhoda and John Othoson. His primary residence was Wilmington, Delaware, before
retiring to Port St. Lucie, Florida where he and his wife resided for twenty-six years. In 2004 they moved to central Florida to be near family. He was an assistant plant manager for DuPont Corporation. He was a member of the Red Lion United Methodist Church, Bear, Delaware; he attended First Congregational Church, Port St. Lucie and the late Grace Bible Church in Winter Haven. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Normandy Invasion in WWII. He was a member of Ionic Masonic Lodge #31, Newport, DE and he was a charter member of the Port St. Lucie, American Legion Post #318. His favorite hobbies were cards, fishing and golf.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marian "Mabel". He is survived by his son Dr. Howard "Bud" Othoson (Karen) of Lakeland; two daughters Jacqueline Farnandez (Jack) of Tall Timbers, MD and Carol Strencejewski of Port St. Lucie; Five grandchildren and Ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday November 22, 2015, 2-4 PM at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens 3350 Mall Hill Drive Lakeland, FL 33810.
Roger will be laid to rest at White City Cemetery in Fort Pierce, FL
