Lakeland - Mrs. Hettie Lou Prine, 93, passed away quietly surrounded by friends & family on December 22, 2017. Lakeland resident since 1959, she was born Hettie Lou Peterson, on April 8 1924, in Echols County Georgia. Known to friends & family as Ms. Lou, Mama Prine, Grandma & Mom; saying that she would happily answer to any of those names. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings & the "Love of Her Life", her husband of 69 years, JP Prine.
She was a homemaker and for three years worked for the Lakeland Ledger's Circulation Department. She was a founding member of the Peterson Family Reunion held in Echols County Georgia over forty years ago. "The Peterson Clan" has traced its roots back to arriving in America in 1640 as members of the 2nd James Town Colony of Virginia.
She is survived by sons Jerry and Ted Prine; granddaughters, Ashley Prine, Rachael Spangler, Lyles & Lexie Prine. & great granddaughter, Mila Spangler .

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6th from 10-11 am at the Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland FL 33801. Services will follow at 11 am at the funeral home.
