LAKELAND – Mr. Herbert Webster Funk passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
Herbert was born on October 9, 1933 to Adelbert and Bernice Funk in Buffalo, NY. He was an U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War conflict. Herbert was an area manager for National Fuel Gas for 42 years. He moved to Lakeland in 1995 from NY. Herbert attended St. Anthony Catholic Church.
He was preceded by his son, Robert M. Funk. Herbert is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Funk; 3 sons, Paul E. Funk of Pittsburg, PA, Thomas J. Funk of Buffalo, NY and David M. Funk (Sandra) of Mt. Pleasant, SC.; 4 daughters, Susan M. Carlisle of Cooper City, FL, Carol A. Haas (Clay) of West Seneca, NY, Ellen M. Dudas (William) of Littleton, CO and Janet L. Levinson (John) of Portland, OR; sister, Patricia Kobel and 13 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Cypress Lakes Clubhouse. A funeral mass and burial will be held in buffalo, NY in July.
