Henry L. Nicholes' Obituary
Henry L. Nicholes, 78, passed away the evening of Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Henry was one of 12 children born to Jimmy Lee and Florence (Murphy) Nicholes in Ashburn, Georgia on July 18, 1946. His family moved to Florida as a young child, and he has remained a resident of Polk County for 70 years. He was a dump truck driver for Gulf Coast Boring Pipeline for many years prior to retiring.
Henry was a truly selfless man that loved to make others happy and so willing to help anyone in need. He loved fishing, antiques, camping, and adding to his collection of Hot Wheel cars and hats. He is lovingly remembered for his unique habit of buying and trading cars.
Above all else, Henry was all about his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren most of all.
Henry is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dianna, his mother and father, and 8 siblings. He is survived by daughters Leslie Nicholes, Patricia Cloud (Charles) and Pamela Curles (Doug); Brothers Wayne Nicholes, Donald Nicholes, and Franklin Nicholes; 6 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
