HAZEL 'CLAIRE' LOUISE GASTON PICKENS, 84
LAKELAND - Hazel 'Claire' Louise Gaston Pickens, 84, of Lakeland, FL, died Nov 6, 2014, due to Alzheimer's.
Hazel was born in Parkersburg, WV, daughter of Eustace James Gaston and Ruby Gaston, and loving wife of Clarence Pickens. She passed away peacefully at her home in Lakeland, FL, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her sons and daughters as follows: Dana Pickens (Phyllis), Regina Bryant (Freddie) and Annie Owens of Parkersburg, WV, Michael Pickens (Debbie) of Walker, WV, Mark Pickens (Donna) of Groveland, FL, Vickie Kittle and Shari Headley (Scott) of Lakeland, FL. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Clifford Gaston (Helen) of TX, Linda Wagner (Tim) of FL, Dayton Gaston (Mildred), Phyllis Johnson (Ray) of WV, and sisters-in-law, Margaurite Gaston of TX and Nellie Gaston of WV. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Pickens, a son, Larry Pickens, a daughter, Laura Headley, brothers, Edgel Gaston and Burl Gaston, sisters Polly Gaston Baker and Peggy Gaston Carez Cooper. Hazel worked at Headley Insurance Company of Lakeland, FL until retirement, Bowhunter's Supply of Vienna, WV, Pick's Archery of Davisville, WV, and Wood County Schools of Parkersburg, WV. Hazel's great joys in life were her family and friends, going out to eat, shopping, and taking rides.
