Harry Rewis
Lakeland - Harry Rewis, age 67, died Tuesday, December 4 after an extended illness. He was born in Bartow, Florida. He was a Deacon and member of the Mt. Enon Primitive Baptist Church in Plant City.
Harry enjoyed laying by the pool, making pecan brittle, going to church, and spending time with his family. He retired from Publix after 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kibbie and Katherine “Kat” Rewis; and wife, Evelyn Gable Rewis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Hazen Rewis; two daughters, Toni Rowland, and Trina Guthrie (David); one brother, Kenny Rewis (Donna); three sisters, Betty Kent, Gloria Baker (Charlie), and Yvonne Folds (J.D.); seven grandchildren, Evelyn Nino (Jose), Jake Rowland, Lisa Winn (Damon), Tiffany Guthrie, Chad Guthrie, Ashley Williams (Justin), and Cody Guthrie. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wed. (Today) from 6-8 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Thurs. at 11 am at the funeral home, followed by interment at Oak Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
