Our Dad, Our Pop, Our Friend, Nana’s Best Friend and Husband,
A Great Grandfather who Loved His Little One’s,
A Brother that Loved his Family Dearly, A devoted loving Son and
Son in law, A wonderful Father in law,
An Uncle that has been there for any and all that needed him. A Friend that was always there to help, no matter what the need.
Our Pop was not a rich man with money and gold! He was the richest man I know with a heart of gold! He believed in Family values which he instilled in each of us. He is a warm loving caring man who has gone through many tough times. He was a guardian, protecting his family in any means he seen fit. He is a Christian man, he may not have went to church in these later years, but he was raised in the church and continued his faith with God all through his years.
I remember loving to hear about his life growing up, things he has seen, people he has met, like George Jones, he’s even been to George’s home, when he and Tammy lived here in Highland City. He talked about his work at Crown Cork and Seal, and the hamberger joint they ate at, Royal Castle, on the corner of hwy 98 and hwy 60 in Bartow.
His Granddaughters and Great Granddaughters was his princesses in his heart and eyes with each one of them in their own special way, they were his pride and joy. He thought the sun shined through each of them. Loving to spend time with every one of them, holding them, playing with them, listening to them talk about work and school. They will still be his princesses and he will continue to watch over them.
His Grandsons and Great Grandsons he taught about spec fishing, and hunting. He taught all of how to swim, by tossing in the pool! Our favorite times was sit around the fire hearing about his younger days of church, family times together. The hunting trips with him sitting around camp he would tell us about his boxing days, and his years of growing up. Teaching us about family values and morals and the respect of others. We taught us about life itself. You put pop around a fire pit with just guys and he would tell stories to us guys that wasn’t for the women folk to hear. We all laughted and had a blast. Pop was a tough man when he had to be, but his heart was always loving and caring. Taking care of Nana and his family, was number one! He would call nana emmie short (Merle), Momma was his right arm, sometimes his left one too. She took great care of dad , no matter how tired her little body was, she would keep a going. We will always cherish each memory and he will be with us always. He will be watching over us all and we will feel his prescence with us from time to time.
He is so loved by us all and we will miss him greatly.
