Marines never die, they live forever, they regroup and lead the way. You were always larger then life, you always had a commanding presence. You were a hard worker who always gave one hundred percent. Your voice stood out with a timbre that always got our attention. Your annual Harley riding Santa Claus performance always brought pride to know how beneath that tough exterior, was a heart of gold. I miss the company Christmas lunches when you M.C.'d and had awards for people that were often comical and sometimes awkward, but I always looked forward to seeing what new award you had come up with. The one Christmas that I will always remember is when you called me up in front of everyone and let me know that you had gotten everyone together to help me in a time of need. I also remember when you did the same for another person who had suffered a loss. Under that tough exterior was a soft heart that I had the good fortune to witness. It has been an honor and a pleasure knowing you over the last 9 years and I look forward to seeing you again on the parade field when the roster calls my name. This old soldier will always have your 6, stand at ease Marine, the sound of a lone bugle plays taps in your honor, the flag is at half mast, and I slowly salute you my brother in arms. Rest easy.
