Grace M. Sykes, 93 LAKELAND – Grace M. Sykes, 93, of Lakeland, died Thursday, December 1, 2022. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Nick, Gary (Bettye), Scott, Randy (Linda), Victor (Theresa), and Susan (Terry) Rene Read Obituary
It has been our privilege and great blessing to know Grace and her family since 1978. We feel like we have known her all our lives, but it's only been 44 years. She had already taught numerous children in Sunday Schools before we had the honor of including her in our church teaching staff. Grace was a very creative teacher, usually making her own visual aids and activity sheets to relate the Bible stories, making sure every detail was correct according to Scripture. I remember being quite impressed with her collection of trophies and ribbons she had won in numerous horse riding contests. Grace Sykes was quite a lady, a real lady, a Godly lady, and we are honored to call her 'dear friend.'
