Grace E. Singletary (Linton)'s Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Grace Singletary, who passed peacefully at the age of 93 on January 18, 2025. She was a strong, compassionate woman, whose life was devoted to helping others.
Born in 1931, in Plant City, Florida, Grace spent much of her life as a kindhearted nurse, specializing in the care of cancer patients. Her unwavering dedication and nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless individuals during her career. A Woman of profound faith, she was a lifelong Christian, finding strength in the Lord and offering comfort to those around her, whether through her work or her role as a loving mother and grandmother.
Grace Singletary was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Walt, and other beloved family members, including her six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her four loving children: sons, James ‘Jimmy’ (Mitzi) Venable and David (Louise) Venable; and daughters, Brenda (Venable) Hess and Glenda ‘Jordan’ Venable; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith, and for the love she showed to all who were blessed to have known her. Her family finds comfort knowing that she is now at peace in the arms of the Lord.
A funeral service will be held at City on a Hill Church, 1942 West Memorial Blvd., Lakeland, Florida, on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:30am, with a service to follow at 11:30am. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life and to share in the remembrance of her remarkable legacy.
