Gloria Alfreda Smith's Obituary
Lakeland – Gloria A. Smith passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018. She was born in Lawrence, MA to parents Levi and Beatrice Martin. Gloria worked for Bradlees Department Stores in Middletown, CT for 24 years before retiring to Florida in 1990. She loved spending time with her family and cooking all her special dishes. Gloria cherished the many friendships that she made over many years in Connecticut and Florida.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Edward C. Smith, Jr.; 7 siblings; many nieces and nephews. Gloria is survived by her son, Scott E. Smith of Lakeland; daughter, Anne M. Slam and her husband, Dennis of Clinton, CT; granddaughter, Kaitlin A. Smith of Sanford, FL; sisters, Rita Michaud of Port Charlotte, FL, Lorraine Roy of Plantsville, CT; brother, Al Martin of California.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will be at Serenity Gardens. Arrangements by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens. Condolences to the family may be offered at www.gentry-morrison.com
