Gladys Mildred Beckham, 98
LAKELAND - Gladys Mildred Beckham, age 98, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Health. She was born on May 13, 1917 to George Elbert and Sallie Culverhouse Hagler in Jackson County, Florida.
Gladys loved to cook and sew and to work hard and get things done. She also enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to her next adventure. Gladys had a great faith in the Lord and often said she was ready to meet Him in heaven. She was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Joette Garnto, Sarah (Parker) Anthony, Janet (Bill) Singleton, and Delores (Durwood) Avery; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents: first husband, Lowell E. Wiley; second husband, George Beckham; brother, Angus Hagler; sister, Betty Royal; daughter, Kathryn Spickard, and grandson, Clifford Spickard.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N. US Highway 301 Thonotosassa, Florida 33592. The family has requested no flowers.
