Geraldine Marie Condosta's Obituary
Geraldine Marie (Wright) Condosta , age 74, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in Polk City, Florida, with her devoted husband of 52 years, Lee Condosta, by her side.
Born on June 6, 1951, in Southern Pines, North Carolina, Geraldine was the beloved daughter of Mildred and Gerry Wright of Pinehurst. She grew up surrounded by family and love, including her cherished aunts Ola Mae Caps and Louise Maroney.
Geraldine began her professional journey at the Country Club of North Carolina (CCNC) in Pinehurst, where she worked from 1972 to 1985. Her dedication and work ethic were evident throughout her career. In 1985, she relocated to Wilmington and joined Cape Fear Country Club, where she continued to serve with distinction until her retirement in 2016.
A loving wife and mother, Geraldine shared a deep bond with her husband Lee. Together they built a life filled with adventure and joy. Whether riding the waves in their boat or exploring new destinations in their RV, Geraldine found happiness in the open road and the ocean breeze. Her love for travel was matched only by the warmth she brought to those around her.
She is survived by her husband Lee Condosta; her son Brian Condosta; her grandson Jayden Condosta; and her sister Mary Wright Futrell. Geraldine’s presence brought light into every room she entered—her laughter was infectious, and she had an uncanny ability to brighten even the darkest days.
Geraldine faced cancer with courage and grace for 25 years, never losing the spark that made her so special. Her final moments were spent as she lived—surrounded by love and her devoted husband.
May Geraldine’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Viewing will be held on June 11, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM at Southside Chapel 1727 Bartow Road in Lakeland, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
