Auburndale – Mr. George D. “Danny” Matz, II, 64, passed away on September 20, 2014 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Wayne County, KY. He was born in Elyria, OH and lived most of his life in the Lakeland, FL area.
Danny worked for IMC for over 25 years. He was U.S. Marine serving during the Vietnam era. Danny loved motorcycles and jeeps.
He was preceded in death by a son, Chad Aaron Matz. His survivors include his wife, Cherry of Auburndale, FL; son: Erek Matz of Leesburg, FL, daughter: Farrah Matz Thompson of Mulberry, FL and several stepchildren, brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of Danny’s life will take place on Thursday evening, 10/02/14 from 6:00 – 9:00pm at Music Ranch (covered dish requested), 1920 Banana Rd., Lakeland, FL. His funeral service will be Friday, 10/3/14, 2:00pm at Family Worship Center in Lakeland. Flowers can be sent to the Family Worship Center. Interment with military honors will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park. Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
