Gary Eugene Frank
Of Lakeland, Florida passed away from heart failure on October 11, 2022, at the age of 85. Gary was born on November 23, 1936, in Omaha. Nebraska to Benjamin Frank and Rose Mecik Frank. He graduated from Caldwell High School. Gary enlisted in the US Army after high school and served his country in the Korean War. He completed 2 years of Business at Idaho State College.
Gary married Beverly in 1959. They had 2 children, Vikki and Carl. Beverly and Gary divorced in 1968. He then moved to California. He owned a large, prestigious auto collision reconstruction shops in both Seattle and San Francisco. There he met and married his second wife, Kandra. On April 1, 2022, they celebrated 45 years together.
Gary was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was an avid sailor and a genuine cowboy. Gary had a way of looking at life that was enviable. He was a smart businessman building a real estate empire from nothing. He was a Phoenix who conquered a broken back, bladder cancer, lung cancer and several car wrecks. He loved life and fought hard to keep it.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Rose. He is survived by his loving wife, Kandra Frank of Lakeland, Florida; his daughter Vikki and her husband Jeff of Washougal, Washington and his son Carl Frank and his wife in Portland, Oregon.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20th from 10:30 pm-11:30 am with services to begin at 11:30, Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33810. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
