Garland "Whitey" Trent Walling's Obituary
Garland “Whitey” Trent Walling, 76, passed away on February 16, 2026.
Mr. Walling was born on April 19, 1949 in Winter Haven, Florida to the late Archie and Mildred Walling. He was a retired Utilities Director, and enjoyed spending his retirement with his family and friends doing the things he loved. Riding motorcycles with the Faith Riders, admiring waterfalls and bald eagles, and following the Tennessee Volunteers as an avid fan are just a few of the things Whitey enjoyed. When it came to music, Celine Dion was his go to artist.
Mr. Walling is survived by his wife, Joyce Walling; son, Tony Walling and his wife Tiffany; their children Tristen and Trace; daughter, Landi Johnson and her husband Dan; son, Rylie Walling; sister, Gwen Walling and her husband Cliff; sister, Nina Cardino and her husband Greg; brother, Dwight Van Duyne; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 6 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL 33801. In lieu of flowers, donations in Whitey's name are requested to Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee: https://reserve.tnstateparks.com/fall-creek-falls/donate
