Frances Camper Mundy's Obituary
Frances Camper Mundy
Frances, 98, passed away on November 21, 2022 in Lakeland. Born in Springwood, Virginia on April 11, 1924 to parents Carl and Lula Camper, she was one of sixteen siblings raised on a dairy farm in Buchanan, Virginia. She and husband Bennie, and family moved to Lakeland in 1952. Though she lived in Lakeland for 70 years, she always enjoyed returning to her roots in Virginia to visit with family and friends. Following a decades long career at Maas Brothers Department Store, Frances co-owned Dance Closet, a dance apparel store for many years. With a pleasant disposition and never ending energy, she enjoyed life, church, and thoroughly enjoyed cooking, especially for family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by husband of 53 years Bennie; daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Roy Weaver; sisters Louise Martin, Dorothy Breeden, Annie Buky, Grace Brannen and Laura Compton; and brothers Warren, Henry, Donald, Berkley, Charles ‘Pee Wee’ and Joe Camper. Frances is survived by daughter Stephanie (Jerry) Miklavcic, son Ben (Robbie) Mundy, grandchildren Chris (Vickey) Coward, Francey (Kregg) Halbert, Angela Miklavcic (Theresa Ballard), Brett Miklavcic, and Lisa Mundy (Jack Dorkey); great-grandchildren Michael, Ryan, Erikka, Lyndsay, Tanner, Karlee, Chastin, Eliot and Charlotte; great-great grandchildren Landon, Austin, Kaydance, Colton, Eli, Trentin, Greyson, Gatlin, Jaxtyn and soon to be born Teagan; siblings Lawrence (Ruth) Camper, Paul ‘Doodle’ Camper and Mary Houser in Virginia, and Larry (Helen) Camper in Lakeland; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
