LAKELAND - Floyd George Jenkins, 86, passed away Aug. 3, 2014, due to natural causes.
Born in Lake Worth, FL, Floyd graduated from University of Akron with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering. He worked for Goodyear Aerospace Loral as a senior planner for 35 years, and retired as an engineering administrator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in both WWII and Korea, where he received the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged, and then served in the Ohio Army National Guard until 1960. He was a life member of the American Legion and the 40 & 8. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Patricia; children David Jenkins (Dottie) and Julie Sardo (Rick); stepchildren Linda Fath, Jeanne Stell, Sandra Vega and Rebecca Boone; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to a visitation at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland on Thursday, August 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
