Floyd Richard Hamlin's Obituary
Floyd Richard Hamlin, 88 of St Cloud, MN. passed away March 8th, 2023 at the Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Florida. Dick was widely known for his charisma and the beautiful person he was. He was a member of the United States Navy. He completed his Navy training at the NAS Key West base. He served his country for eighteen years and he was very proud of being a Navy veteran. After being discharged from the Navy, Dick graduated from Mankato State University, now known as Minnesota State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. After graduation, he represented Revlon Cosmetics as a sales Manager. As a Revlon representative, Dick traveled all around the world. A few years later, he owned multiple businesses, one of them was a car dealership. Dick loved the outdoors. Some of his hobbies were fishing, hunting, waterskiing, and he loved to play tennis and racquetball. He had a big love for cars.
Born November 3rd, 1934 in Benton, MN, he was the son of the late Evelyn B. Hamlin and Floyd M. Hamlin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers Danny and Robert Hamlin.
He grew up in St. Cloud, lived in St. Paul MN, Baxter MN, and lately in Winter Haven FL.
Dick is survived by his wife, Maria Hamlin (Winter Haven) and her three daughters Loethers (Loli) (Jaaziel) Hirsch of Naples FL, Silvia (Sergio) Bravo of Virginia, Maria "Teso" (Gabriel) Acosta of Niagara Falls NY. He is also survived by his son Tom Hamlin and daughter Tina Echeverria both of MN, and his grandson Keith Acosta, and by nine sisters/brothers in law, including Ms. Elvia Serrano.
