Mrs. Florence Gay Martin's Obituary
Zephyrhills – Mrs. Florence Gay Martin, 78, passed away on Wed. May 27, 2015. She was born in Lakeland, FL and has resided here most of her life. Florence graduated from Kathleen High School in 1956, where she was a member of FHA, Glee Club and a majorette with the school band. She was also one of the school’s horseshoe champions. Florence was stunning in her singing and dancing performance of the Tweedle Dee song in the Glee Club Variety show. She was also elected to the Homecoming Queen court, and was voted the Neatest for the class of 1956. Florence contributed greatly when planning the Class reunions.
She is survived by husband, Fred F. Martin, Jr; son, Allen Conant; daughter, Kathy Conant; brother, Bobby Gay; sisters, Carlene Smith, Voncele Sumner, Joyce Dollar; grandchildren, Chrissy Brown, Michael Brown, Erin (Brent) Gandy; great grandchildren, Chance Gandy and Rylan Brown.
Visitation will be Monday,June 1st, 5 – 7pm at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, June 2nd, 10:00am at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
