My fondest memories of Evan stem back from when he as a little boy in second and third grade. Every Saturday morning, Evan would come knocking at our door and ask, “What’ya cookin’, Mrs. H?“ I would gladly welcome him in to join in a late smorgasbord of a breakfast-Farina, scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, you name it… and he ate it all. Having three young children at the time, our garage door was always open early on Saturday morning. And a feast of breakfast foods would now become a tradition in our household because Evan made it special. We Henkelman’s are culinary cooks and we experiment with an array of foods. Evan discovered he had a pallet for escargot and caprese. We are so saddened by your loss. No parent should ever lose a child. Please be comforted in knowing Evan will remain in our hearts and in our memories.
