Esther Alyne Pollock Pettypiece, age 95, of Lakeland, died peacefully on September 26, 2021, at the home of her son, surrounded by her loved ones. Esther was born on August 31, 1926 to Julia Tanner Tancred Pollock and James Monroe Read Obituary
She was the perfect example of a nurse from her hat to the straight seams of her white hose. She stood with you not above you. She comforted the scared and educated many a new mother on how to care for their newborn child. Rest now your shift is over
Esther was my friend for 50 plus years and will truly be missed. We would sit for hours crocheting or knitting and talking about our nursing or college days. She could always refresh my memory of many of the Bible stories. I can only image now that she is walking with Jesus and letting him hear a few of her comments related to some of the Bible events and outcomes.
Bobby and Gail, thank you for not only taking such great care of Esther in her last days, but thank you for opening your home to her friends. I felt so comfortable visiting with her during her last few months.
