ESTHER M. LaTORRE, 85
LAKELAND - Esther M. LaTorre, age 85, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, September 11, 2014.
Born March 8, 1929, in Key West, Florida, Esther worked 20 years for the Navy in civil service, then went on to work another 19 years at the post office. She was a very active and independent person who enjoyed playing Bocce, cards, and dominoes. She was also involved in the Key West chapter of Eastern Star for many years, holding numerous positions repeatedly, one of which being a Worthy Matron. Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Louis 'Weechi' and youngest son, Mario. She is survived by her remaining sons, Louis and Richard (Linda), three grandchildren Richie, Macie and Kris, and seven great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Gentry-Morrison located at 3350 Mall Hill Drive, with visitation from 10-11. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in Key West, Florida.
