Lavern was one of the finest gentlemen I’ve ever known. I met him in 1976 when I hired on at the Publix Lakeland grocery warehouse. He was a kind but strong man that I highly admired. Mr. Lavern was the kind of man we should all strive to be.
I worked at Publix the same time as Mr Waters. While I did not know him personally, we acknowledged each other when passing in the hallways within the Corporate Offices. He always had a smile on his face and appeared to have a pleasant personality. My condolences to the family and may God Bless. Gerry Talbert
Miss Annie, We are sorry for your loss of this great and Godly man.
Where I haven't been in touch in many years, you were like a mother to me in my earlier career. Your guidance helped me thru to where I am today.
Our hearts and prayers go out to you and Daphne. We know you guys loved Vern with all your heart(s).
If there is anything we can do, please let us know.

I don’t have many memories of my childhood, growing up that Uncle Vern wasn’t a part of, I am really blessed that he was apart of my life, from fishing, hunting or riding our four wheelers in the woods. We had a bunch of great memories. I thank him for that. R. I.P. Uncle Vern. I know that you are with the Lord. I pray for Aunt Ann and the rest of our family, to have comfort from the grief of your passing. Love you Uncle Vern. I will see you again one day in heaven.
