Elizabeth Denise Thomas' Obituary
Elizabeth Denise Thomas, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on January 30, 2026. She was born on October 15, 1953, in Cullman, Alabama, to the late Milton Dooley and Margaret Graf.
Elizabeth was a proud graduate of the Florida State University College of Education and devoted her life to teaching. Over a 35-year career as an elementary school teacher, she served her students with passion, patience, and excellence. In 1997, she was honored as Teacher of the Year at Medulla Elementary School, a recognition that reflected the care and dedication she brought to the classroom every day.
Outside of school, Elizabeth found joy in reading, cooking, traveling, and yoga. She especially loved time at the beach and treasured family trips as part of the Disney Vacation Club.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, Jeffrey Thomas and James Thomas; her beloved grandchildren, Bradley and Maverick; and her siblings, brothers Kevin and Michael, and sister Ann.
Visitation will be held on April 11, 2026, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL 33801.
