Rev. Eleanor May Powell, 88
Lakeland - Having fought the good fight and have kept the faith, Rev Eleanor May Powell born November 14,1926 in St Clair, MO, finished her earthly race on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Lakeland, FL with her family by her side.
Rev. Powell was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dollie Ritchey, great grandson, Bryson Alexander Dobbs. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Elmer L Powell, Lakeland, FL; brother, Donald (Karen) Ritchey, Fenton, MO; children, Steven L (Kathryn) Powell, Lakeland, FL, Annette C Hogan, Odell, IL; five grandchildren; Julie Dobbs, Lakeland, FL, Harold Ray Hogan (Michele Brewick), Coal City, IL, Phillip (Shannon) Powell, Indianapolis, IN, Kristi Jo Hogan (Matthew Huff), Cumming, GA, Stephanie Powell, Lakeland, FL; eight great grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Powell, Dylan, Sydney and Kalyn Hogan, Landon Dobbs and Savanna Jo and Mason Huff.
Rev Powell was a credentialed minister with the General Council of the Assemblies of God. She attended North Central University in Minneapolis, MN and served as co-pastor with her husband for over 60 years in Illinois, before relocating to Lakeland, FL in 2013.
Our family would like to express our love and appreciation to the nurses and staff of Grace Manor Assisted Living Facility where Eleanor made her home for the past 16 months. Thank you to the wonderful nurses and staff of Cornerstone Hospice and The Palliative Care Unit of Lakeland Regional Medical Center for their tender and compassionate care of our mother during her final days.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Victory Church Chapel of Lights, Lakeland, FL with funeral services following at 10am. Interment to follow at 2:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL
