Lakeland - Edward W. Shanklin, 72, died Nov. 27, 2019. Mr. Shanklin was born in Audubon, NJ on May 10, 1947 to the late Ella and Wilbur Shanklin. He was a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School. Following graduation, he joined the Air Force and worked as a jet engine mechanic. After the Air Force, he served as a Camden County Sheriff's Officer for over eight years. He then returned to the aeronautical field and worked as an aircraft technician for the airlines until joining the Federal Aviation Administration. He retired from the FAA in 2010 with over 26 years of service as as Aerospace Engineering Technician. He made Lakeland, FL his retirement home. He loved to travel. Mr. Shanklin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann.
