Eddie was the most fortunate of men. To have a wife, four children, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who loved him dearly is more than most men are granted in this life time. My memories of Eddie go back to ninth grade. He was a friendly, tough little guy who could lick anyone twice his size.....and did so on occassion. Small in stature, but large in heart and loyalty to his friends, among which I proudly count myself.
We lost track of one another over the years because I moved around so much in my Air Force career as a pilot and later with United Airlines, seldom retuning to my home town..
We restored our old friendship recently at one of the reunions of LHS Class of '53. It did my heart good to see him and reminisce about our old times together, running in gym class around Lake Wire, riding his horse, and just hanging out. We watched an LHS football game together during the reunion and played catch up about our families and careers. I wouldn't trade anything for those moments of renewed friendship and am saddened because there won't be any more until we are all united with friends and families and follow Eddie to join our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Happy trails Eddie!
