Mr. Edmond "Ed" Phillips, beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Poppa went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2014 due to complications of pneumonia. Ed was born on September 8, 1939 in Avon Park, FL to George and Iva Phillips. He was an avid bowler, golfer and member of the Soggy Bottom Bluegrass Bunch. Mr. Phillips was owner and operator of Ed's Transmission Service for over 35 years and was also a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ed was preceded in death by his son: Daniel E. Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Phillips; daughter, Tina Peavy; brothers, Charles, Donald and Hunter Phillips; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services to follow at 1:30pm at the church. Burial will take place at Corinth Cemetery, Bereah, FL.
